SummarizeTube is a Chrome extension designed to help users quickly generate summaries of YouTube videos using AI.

📌 Information We Collect

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII), such as your name, email address, or location.

This extension only accesses:

• Publicly available video captions from YouTube pages
• Your local settings (e.g., language preference)
• The currently active browser tab to detect YouTube video pages

No user accounts, personal messages, or private data are accessed or stored.

🤖 Third-Party Services

This extension may send video caption text (not your personal data) to OpenAI's ChatGPT API to generate summaries.

🔐 Permissions Justification

We request the following permissions:

• tabs: to detect if a YouTube video tab is active
• storage: to store your preferences locally
